Premios Grammy 2014 Música clásica

El Grammy a la mejor interpretación coral 2014 ha sido para Tõnu Kaljuste director fundador del Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir (1981), de la Tallinn Chamber Orchestra  (1993), del proyecto Nargen Opera (2004) y del Nargen Festival (2006). Nominado habitual para los Grammy, ha ganado diversos galardones por sus grabaciones (Diapason d’Or de l’Annee 2000, Cannes Classical Award, Edison Prize, Brit Award 2003).

Kaljuste ha centrado su trabajo en la música de los compositores  estonios (Heino Eller, Tõnu Kõrvits, Arvo Pärt, Veljo Tormis, and Erkki-Sven Tüür), cuyas obras ha grabado con ECM Record. Por uno de estos discos le han premiado: Arvo Pärt Adam’s Lament, una compilación de música de Pärt en su mayor parte compuesta (o al menos revisada) desde el cambio de siglo. Reúne interpretaciones grabadas en entornos diferentes por distintos grupos: Latvian Radio ChoirSinfonietta RigaVox ClamantisEstonian Philharmonic Chamber ChoirTallinn Chamber Orchestra todos ellos bajo la dirección de Tõnu Kaljuste que sirve de hilo conductor durante todo el recorrido.
